Our team is a dynamic mix of backgrounds: Kyle brings expertise in brewing, art, and horticulture; he is the science behind our kombucha. Aimee's talents span acting, costume design, and real estate, offering creativity and practical business insights. Andrew contributes from the entertainment industry, fabrication, and business sectors, bringing organizational skills and innovative thinking to the table. Upon Kyle's return home to the area after years out west spent as a professional beer brewer, our team started home-brewing beer and kombucha together. A couple of years in, a plan started being put into place to open our own local craft kombucha brewery. The goal is to make a purposeful living doing something we are passionate about while providing high-quality, healthy, enjoyable, and meaningful products and experiences to consumers.
Despite our diverse skills, what truly unites us is our shared passion for family, friends, nature, art, music, and, of course, kombucha! These common interests not only inspire us individually but also foster a strong sense of community and togetherness within our team, the local businesses we are proud to work with and the customers who come into our taproom. We thrive on social interaction and cherish the connections we build through these shared passions.
Together, we use our varied backgrounds and common values to create a welcoming taproom environment and community. It's a space where creativity flourishes and our collective strengths drive us towards our goals. Central to our mission is producing a delicious product that is environmentally friendly and locally sourced whenever possible—from the tea we brew with, to the flavor ingredients that infuse our kombucha.
In essence, we are more than a team; we are a community dedicated to crafting kombucha that reflects our shared values and passions, inviting others to join us in enjoying a beverage that embodies creativity, sustainability, and the joy of shared experiences.

What is in your kombucha?
Sourcing local ingredients is fresher, tastes better, is more nutritious, reduces environmental impact, helps to build a more prosperous and connected community and is just way more fun! Along with all these benefits, another important goal of Cloud Mountain is to utilize the uniqueness of the Midwest’s ecological diversity and climate to showcase the abundancy of growable plants and native species that provide not only incredible flavor, but sustenance as well.
We strive to support to local economy in choosing to purchase ingredients from local suppliers and showcase the bounty of nature through farming and foraging for as many ingredients as we can. A shout out to Walnut Street Tea Company for supplying our organic teas, the U of I Sustainable Student Farm, Sola Gratia, Delight Flower Farm and Blue Moon Farms for an array of herbs, vegetables and fruits, local foraging company Autumn Berry Inspired for their autumn olives and insightful knowledge on many native plant species, our own fruitful five-acre property that we like to call Goldfinch Farms, and to all current and future retailers and collaborators. Thank you for helping us in producing and delivering our kombucha to Champaign-Urbana and for helping support our mission!
